To better service its local outlets, Queensland based retailing giant, Robins Kitchens, has paid $1,150,000 for a freestanding  office/warehouse at 80 Nestor Drive, Meadowbrook.  King & Co’s Myles Clentsmith handled the transaction, while the vendor is undisclosed.

This property comprises 800m2 of floor area on 1,556m2 of MZ-3 land and is five minutes from the Loan Motorway, 20 kms south of the CBD as well as 30 minutes from north of the Gold Coast. Features include a 40m2 office, an  approximately 8m roof height and access via dual roller doors

The new owner is a successful Australian owned business, with a presence in Queensland spanning over 30 years and an extensive network of stores located from Cairns in Far North Queensland to Bateau Bay on the Central Coast of New South Wales

According its GM, Shane Hicks, the firm Òis committed to selling quality kitchenware, innovative utensils, all the latest cooking gadgets and a range of great gift ideas designed to add some spice and inspiration to home cooking. Meanwhile we have become Australia’s largest privately owned kitchenware retailer

He goes on to say 2010 was a year of getting our internal systems and plans organised for our existing 40 stores, as well as one of laying the foundations to double this number in the years ahead. The new warehouse at Meadowbrook will help us manage this growth in the years ahead. Next financial year will see us open 10 new stores and fill a real void in many centres

Asked how many stores they are planning, Hicks replied that we will continue to fill gaps in the QLD market, grow in NSW and look to enter Victoria in 2013

Clentsmith added that not only will this site provide Robins Kitchens with an excellent warehouse and distribution facility but gain in value due to Meadowbrook’s ever increasing popularity
