PARKINSON STACKS UP WELL FOR CHEP PALLETS

International pallet specialist Chep Pallecon Solutions is set to move into a new facility at 20 Southlink Street Parkinson in early October. The team at King & Co, who negotiated the deal with tenant representative Paul Madden of Argyle Property Group for the design and construct tilt slab facility, conducted a recent site visit to see first hand what this first-class facility has on offer. The facility provides 3,000m² of clear span warehouse with a large cantilevered awning of 768m². The warehouse has an internal height of 10m, providing excellent cubic capacity and is accessed via multiple container height roller doors. A 300m² corporate office and generous concrete hardstand area of 4,000m² complements the facility, with the location in Parkinson providing Chep with outstanding access to all major transport routes throughout South East Queensland.

Chep will utilise the site as a maintenance and storage facility for their busy Plastic Pallets solutions division, providing plastic pallets which are ideal for highly regulated, hygiene-sensitive industries such as pharmaceutical manufacturing and food grade quality operations. Plastic Pallets also have a non-porous surface, do not absorb odours and are easily cleaned with the added feature that they will not rust or rot, mean low risk product damage with no nails or splinters and provide easy handling with 2 way or 4-way entry system. On top of that, plastic pallets are reusable, recyclable and environmentally friendly for today’s industry demands.

The transaction to Parkinson sees Chep signing an initial lease term of 10 years, with options in place to extend their tenancy. The owners, who are private investors, have held the site for a number of years, just waiting for the right tenant to come along. They’re excited about the development and what Multi Span have delivered with its on-time construction overseen by MS Projects from design stage, approvals and then completion for Chep Pallecon. Through its negotiations, King & Co have been able to secure the management of 20 Southlink Street, a move that sees it join other quality industrial properties currently under management in the King & Co stable
